The events unfolded earlier when Denver Police initiated a homicide investigation near 50th and Federal in response to a reported stabbing. This prompted Regis University to issue a lockdown notice just before 10:30 a.m., urging everyone on campus to seek shelter and secure themselves in place.

However, swift police action led to a breakthrough in the case. Moments later, Regis University announced that the suspect had been apprehended at W. 55th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard, situated less than half a mile from the Regis campus. Consequently, the lockdown was lifted, and normalcy was restored.

Denver Police are now exploring potential links between this stabbing incident and another deadly stabbing that occurred on an RTD bus at 32nd and Federal.

In a separate incident in the Stroh Ranch neighborhood of Parker, Colorado, two men are now facing attempted first-degree murder charges following a shooting that took place on a Tuesday morning. The Parker Police Department responded promptly to the incident, which occurred around 5:45 a.m. Notably, the neighborhood had installed a Flock camera system in July, which proved instrumental in capturing the suspects’ license plates. This vital evidence enabled officers to swiftly identify the vehicle and subsequently arrest 30-year-old James Gomez Deppermann and 23-year-old Aaron Joseph Stelly.

Neighbors expressed their gratitude for the effective camera system, believing it will act as a deterrent to criminal activity. The community is relieved that the system was installed and successfully assisted in the swift apprehension of the suspects.

Both individuals are now facing a range of charges, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a weapon while under the influence. Fortunately, while two homes reported damage from the shooting incident, no injuries were reported in the incident.
