Tupelo, MS – The passing of Lacey Elkins, Director of Business Development at Recovery Bay Center in Panama City, Florida, has deeply saddened the community of Tupelo, Mississippi. Elkins, aged 29, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at North MS Medical Center.

News of her untimely death surfaced through a heartfelt Facebook post expressing condolences and unwavering support for her family during this difficult time.

Elkins, an alumna of the University of Arizona Global Campus, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology between 2016 and 2020, marking the beginning of her impactful career journey. She showcased her dedication in various roles within the addiction recovery field, including positions at Extra Mile Recovery Addiction Rehab, Tulip Hill Recovery, and Summit BHC, before assuming her role at Recovery Bay Center.

“Seeing the floods of posts of people mourning the passing of Lacey Elkins and sharing their sweet memories with her is a testament to how full of life she was.“It’s crazy because just last Friday, I was reminiscing with my family about the trip we took to Ohio when we were kids. It wasn’t supposed to snow, but it did. A lot. We had a great time, as you could always expect to around her.“Even though we haven’t spoken in a few years, there are core memories and experiences you share with people that keep them close to your heart despite the passing of time. I am very sad hearing about this loss.My heart is heavy for her husband and 2 young boys. There is a piece of them gone now that can not be replaced.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Elkins co-owned 1st Step Sober Living in Tupelo and Blu Majik Cigar & Hookah Lounge, reflecting her diverse entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to making positive contributions in healthcare and business.

A GoFundMe initiative, started by Nathan Clapp on behalf of Patrick Elkins, aims to support Lacey Elkins’ immediate family. The campaign, initiated on November 26, 2023, set a goal of $50,000, garnering support from 145 individuals and raising $15,566 at the time of this report.
