Facebook account recovery with trusted contacts
Here’s how to change your Facebook password with the help of your friends:
- Go to www.facebook.com and click ‘Forgot Password?’
- Enter your email address or phone number to search for the Facebook account you want to recover; click ‘Search’.
- You will see several options to reset your password i.e. using your phone number or email; click ‘No longer have access to these?’
- On the next page, simply enter a new email address or phone number that you can access to receive notifications regarding account recovery, press ‘Continue’ to continue.
- On the next page, you’ll have the option to ask your trusted contacts for help; click ‘Show my trusted contacts’
- Enter the name of one of your trusted contacts to continue, click ‘Confirm’.
- All your trusted contacts will be revealed, you just need to contact all these people directly and ask them to visit www.facebook.com/recover link and ask them to give it you code they received; you have to enter all the codes in the given space then click ‘Continue’.
- Finally, you will be allowed to set a new password for your Facebook account.
