Rabbi Menachem Mendel Braun’s passing occurred following a tragic boating accident in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 28, 2023. He was hospitalized until his neshama returned to Hashem on Shabbos.

The Levaya, or funeral service, was held in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2023, at noon. The Kevurah, or burial, followed later that evening at the Viznitzer Bais HaChaim on Route 306 in Monsey, New York, around 7:00 PM. The Baltimore community came together to pay their respects, honoring the memory of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Braun.

Shiva, the Jewish mourning period, was observed both in Baltimore and Monsey. In Baltimore, the shiva took place at 2307 Rogene Drive, Baltimore, MD 21209, with Mincha/Maariv at 7:15 PM from Monday, September 3, through Thursday. Shacharis occurred from Tuesday through Thursday at 8:00 AM. The family later returned to Monsey.
