The Punjab government has declared Saturday, ‘September 17, 2022’ a public holiday in Lahore and Rawalpindi. This holiday will be celebrated in all government agencies as well as educational institutions on the occasion of the “979th Annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh (RA) in Lahore” and by the “Chelum Procession” in Rawalpindi.
On Saturday, September 17, 2022, all public and private sector educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities located within the city limits of Tehsil Rawalpindi and Lahore County will remain closed. .
The official notice of the holiday was issued by order of the S&GAD Additional Secretary in Lahore and the Deputy Commissioner in Rawalpindi.
