A masterclass on wildlife filmmaking, a focus on First Nations factual series, sector networking, and specially arranged 1:1 meetings with industry representatives are all included in this year’s one-day program. It also offers exclusive insights into co-creation and impact campaigns, how to access film funds and get projects ready for pitching, and how to access film funding.

Co-creation and Impact with the Team from The Territory, a special session with director Alex Pritz and impact producer José Neto from the National Geographic documentary that won Peabody and Sundance Film Festival awards in 2022, is the program’s main focus.

The Territory, a first-person narrative of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people’s ceaseless battle against deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon, has emerged as a game-changer in terms of real collaborative filmmaking, the creation of noticeable, widespread impact, and legislative change. Alex and Jose will explain how one of the most impactful films of the year was made by a dynamic team of both local indigenous and worldwide key creatives who came together to bring a local tale to a global audience.
