PENTAGON’s Hongseok Got Dismissed From The Military Service Early Due To Health Concerns

Hongseok, a handsome member of K-Pop boy group PENTAGON, was allowed to leave the army early due to poor health. CUBE Entertainment published a press release on December 26, 2022, announcing that the idol was fired from the military due to worsening depression and panic issues. The message also apologized to all Hongseok supporters for the unpleasant news.

Hongseok enlists in the army in May 2022. According to an announcement from his agency on April 1, the 28-year-old male member of the group will begin his mandatory military service in May. The press also said that the location and time of enrollment will be kept private due to the COVID-19 tightening policy in effect at the time.

Hongseok, a popular musician from PENTAGON, the K-Pop powerhouse, was fired from the military after just eight months of service due to a worsening mental health condition that required urgent medical treatment. Fans were informed of this through a press release revealing Hongseok’s military classification as well as the artist’s health status. According to the statement:

“Hello. Cube Entertainment is us. Hongseok, a member of PENTAGON, was classified for the Wartime Labor Service and was fired from the military for health reasons.”

Furthermore, according to revealed information, the male idol may suffer from depression and panic disorder, in addition to agoraphobia that he has suffered since before starting his military service. It was stated:

“Hongseok received ongoing treatment and counseling during his military service due to symptoms of depression and panic disorder with agoraphobia that he had previously suffered. However, as his symptoms worsened, the military determined that he was unable to maintain military life and therapy at the same time, so he was fired for medical reasons.”
