Joburg church, South Africa – In a shocking and tragic incident, Pastor Dwayne Gordon was fatally shot during a church service at Eagles Christian Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder is under investigation. The assailants, still at large, robbed the congregation of their cellphones and belongings before fleeing the scene.

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) condemned the heinous act, emphasizing the need for stronger action against rising violent crime. ACDP’s deputy president, Wayne Thring, called on authorities to spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice and stressed the importance of safeguarding sacred spaces from criminal activity.
