Islamabad: According to the announcement of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the federal government has declared a 5-day national holiday for the celebration of Eidul Fitr, starting from Friday, April 21, until Tuesday, April 25.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has predicted that Eidul Fitr will likely be held nationwide on Saturday, April 22. The council’s secretary general, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, announced that the committee will convene on Thursday, April 20, to view the Shawwal moon.
Mufti added that if the crescent moon is seen on Thursday evening, then Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, April 21. However, he also mentioned that it is unlikely to see the moon in the morning. evening of the same day.
The Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) announced that Eidul Fitr is scheduled to be celebrated on April 22, after completing 30 days of fasting during the holy month of Ramazan. The council predicts that the birth of the moon will take place on April 20 at 9:13 a.m. Pakistan time.
However, it notes that in all regions of Pakistan, the age of the moon at sunset must be more than 19 hours to observe, which is not going to happen. The difference between sunset and moonset, which should have been more than 40 minutes, would be only 21 minutes in some regions like Peshawar, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Charsadda, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Quetta and Jiwani, and 20 minutes in Lahore and Karachi.
Eidul Fitr is celebrated at the end of the month of Ramazan, which involves Muslims fasting from dawn to dusk. The occasion is marked by prayers, family gatherings and parties, and its exact date is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon that signals the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal.
