Off-Road racing driver ‘Kyle LeDuc’ passes away at 42 after battling with cancer

Championship Off-Road Racing has lost one of its esteemed drivers, Kyle LeDuc, who passed away at the age of 42 after a valiant battle with cancer. The news was confirmed through a heartfelt Facebook post by the International Off-Road Drivers Association – IODA, expressing deep sadness at the loss of a racing icon.

In a statement, IODA said, “With great sadness we have learned Kyle LeDuc had lost his battle with cancer and had been called home. Our thoughts and prayers are with his whole family during this difficult time.”

Kyle LeDuc was born on July 29, 1981, in Cherry Valley, California. His journey in racing began with mountain biking, where he achieved several downhill championships. Transitioning to desert racing, LeDuc made an immediate impact, securing victories at the SCORE International Laughlin Desert Challenge in 1999 and 2000, including the Baja 2000 Class 8 triumph.

A significant milestone in LeDuc’s career came in 2001 when he claimed the Prolite World Championship at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. He continued his success, winning the Championship Off-Road Racing Pro Lite title in 2004.

In 2008, LeDuc entered the Pro 4 scene, securing three wins in his debut season. His racing endeavors expanded to include both the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and the Traxxas TORC Series in 2009, where he notably clinched the runner-up spot in the latter’s championship.

Throughout his career, LeDuc showcased his prowess, claiming victories in prestigious races such as the 2009 BorgWarner Cup at Crandon and the 2010 Lucas Oil Challenge Cup.

One of the highlights of his career was the 2012 LOORRS championship, where he emerged triumphant with seven victories, demonstrating his dominance on the track.
