Jerry Springer passed away Thursday at the age of 79. He was a former news broadcaster and mayor, whose TV show of the same name introduced a trio of dysfunctional families eager to expose all. even on weekday afternoons, including fights, profanities, and faint images of nudity.

At its peak, “The Jerry Springer Show” was a ratings powerhouse, a subculture outcast in the United States, and a headline for gory dramas. During its 27 years of existence, the daytime talk show—famous for its chair-throwing arguments and full of beeps—has become a popular American guilty pleasure, at one point even surpassing by Oprah Winfrey.
Springer calls it “escapist entertainment,” but some believe the show undermines America’s social standards by lowering them.
Family spokeswoman Jene Galvin said: “Jerry’s ability to connect with people is at the core of his success in everything he strives for, whether it’s politics, broadcasting or just toying with people on the street who want a picture or a word.” and a friend of Springer since 1970, in a statement. He was irreplaceable, and his passing is deeply traumatizing, but his mind, heart, and humor will live on in our memories.
After a short illness, Springer died quietly at his home in suburban Chicago, according to the statement.
On his Twitter account, Springer humorously describes himself as “The talk show host who controls the end of civilization”. Additionally, he frequently makes hilarious comments that he wishes someone “maybe you’ll never be on my show.”
The series ended in 2018 after more than 4,000 episodes without flinching from its basic appeal: some of its final episodes featured titles like “Strippers sex made me straight. ”, “Stop My Twin Sister” and “Hooking Up With My Therapist.”
In the late 1990s, when his daily show drew nearly 7 million viewers, Springer made an argument against disgust in a video “Too hot for TV”.

He attended Tulane University to study political science and Northwestern University for a law degree. He has been involved in politics for most of his adult life and is considering running for governor of Ohio in 2017.
He participated in Robert F. Kennedy’s disastrous 1968 presidential campaign as an aide. Before being elected to the city council in 1971, Springer, a lawyer in Cincinnati, tried unsuccessfully to enter Congress in 1970.
