Nkechi Blessing Sunday comes from one of 17 local government areas in Abia, a state in the Southeast region of Nigeria. She attended Olu Abiodun Kindergarten and Primary School in Lagos for her primary education and Barachel Model College in Lagos for her secondary education. She completed a six-month diploma in theater arts at Lagos State University and studied International Relations at the University of North America Houdegbe.

After graduating from Lagos State University, her friend “Kemi Korede” discovered Nkechi’s passion for acting and invited her to star in the movie “Omo Bewaji” in 2008. Omo Bewaji gave her A brief stint in her career, leading to a meeting with Emeka Duru, who offered her a supporting role in Emem’s 2009 film Isong Through The Fire & Entanglement.

She rose to fame in 2012, with the lead role in Kafila Omo Ibadan, after meeting in South Africa with producer Temitope Bali, who offered her the role of Kafila Omo Ibadan. On 1 February 2017, she was inducted as one of the ambassadors of Nigeria Carnival USA at the second edition of Nigeria’s annual musical, cultural and comedy event in the United States. She won the 2018 City People’s Film Award for Most Promising Actress of the Year for her role as “Dora” in the ghost film The Ghost and the Tout. Nkechi Blessing and Seun Sean Jimoh co-host the 2020 edition of the US Africa Entertainment Awards in 2020.

Story

Nkechi Blessing Sunday is a Nigerian actress, screenwriter, producer and film director, and brand ambassador.

Nkechi, a native of the state of Abia, was born on February 14, 1989.

She is Igbo, but she is best known for playing the roles of Yoruba in Nollywood films. Nkechi is excellent in the role of Yoruba. She is able to do so because she grew up in the Surulere and Abule Egba areas of Lagos State, mainly Yoruba.

In 2015, she released her first film, Omoge Lekki. The film won the MAYA Award and she was nominated for Revelation of the Year at the Best Nollywood Awards.

She is also the President and CEO of Nkechi Films Production and the NBS Foundation.
