Nick Trinidad, who tragically lost his life on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, following a fatal accident, is remembered fondly by those who knew him, as evident from the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
The fatal crash, which took place on U.S. 12 in Porter County, unfolded around 1:30 PM on Tuesday, prompting a rapid response from the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, as requested by Porter County Sheriff Jeff Balon. According to reports, the incident was initiated when the Porter County Sheriff’s Officers received a Flock Alert (License Plate Reader) indicating the presence of a stolen 2022 Toyota Rav 4 traveling westbound on US Highway 12.
In an attempt to intercept the stolen vehicle, the officers swiftly pursued the perpetrator, leading to a devastating collision with another vehicle traveling eastbound on US Highway 12. The impact of the crash resulted in the untimely passing of the male driver of the second vehicle, an occurrence confirmed by The Porter County Sheriff’s Department.

The identified driver of the stolen vehicle, Martell Harper (DOB 3/6/1986), was promptly apprehended and transferred to the hospital before being taken to the Porter County Jail, where he faces multiple felony charges, according to law enforcement officials.
