Manchester Evening News paid tribute to Jason Shani,
Tributes are pouring in for 14-year-old Nathaniel Shani. He has been named as the boy who was stabbed, and tragically died, after an altercation in Harpurhey yesterday. Tributes from his mates remember him as the “kindest soul” and the “funniest person in the world” who will always be ‘in their hearts’. Our thoughts are with Nathaniel’s loved ones during this awful time.
Kevin Allen said,
Nathaniel Shani, 14, here he is in his ATC uniform, by all accounts a good lad, certainly part of a good society, making good choices. Died on Friday stabbed to death.2 lads, 13 and 14 years old in custody. Because of one simple choice 3 lives devastated, 3 families futures changed foreverWe have to stop this, get the message across, #leaveitinthedrawer if you don’t carry a Knife you can’t kill someone. Did the 2 lads really want to be murderers, or did they want to be ‘big’ men. They are now small, scared, alone, facing demons that they will never overcome. Years in the justice system, their futures stolen, just as their victims future has been stolen.Help us get our message across, help us work with youth groups to start developing an anti knife carrying culture, right from an early age. Making your son a good lad isn’t enough, it may not save them. We need a change, it will take time, it will take dedication and it will take love.Today Rebecca Ann runs partly for the love of our stabbing victim Michael Allen but also because we are desperate to save lives. I can only say sorry to Nathaniel Shani’s family, we were too late, but we have to save others. If we’re friends on Facebook I’m tagging you, pass this on, share it, comment make this big, I can’t bare all these needless deaths. Please help us, use your voice to join ours to say ‘no more’, please donate and support MIKES Trust.Mike’s Dad
