Nashua High School North in New Hampshire was placed under lockdown on Monday morning following the discovery of a bullet in a school bathroom, as announced by Nashua police on social media around 9:30 a.m.
An active investigation ensued with officers promptly responding to the scene, as stated by the police department.
An update provided by Nashua police at 10:17 a.m. assured the public that there was “no known threat” at the school and “no injuries to report.”
Subsequently, police confirmed around 11 a.m. that a single round of ammunition was found in a school bathroom, clarifying that no threats or messages were associated with the discovery.
As a precautionary measure, the school remained in lockdown, with plans to release students at 11:30 a.m.
Nashua School Superintendent Mario Andrade addressed parents, explaining that the lockdown was initiated around 8:45 a.m. as a precautionary step after the bullet was discovered.
Despite understandable concern, Andrade assured parents of the safety and support provided to students, emphasizing the seriousness with which the responsibility of student care is taken.
Police continued their investigation at the school throughout Monday afternoon.

Nashua NH School posted on X, “North students will be dismissed, bussed at 11:30 am today. Students and staff are safe but because of the need for the NPD to thoroughly investigate what triggered the lockdown, students and staff will be sent home. More information to come asap.”
