Naeem Moore Obituary: Football coach and Avila football player passes away aged 26

The passing of Naeem Moore, an Avila University student and esteemed coach at Dynasty Football Kansas City, has left family members, friends, and the entire community in mourning. Naeem’s tragic death was confirmed through announcements on the Avila University Athletics and Dynasty Football KC Facebook pages. He was pronounced deceased on the morning of Monday, September 11, 2023.

Avila University Athletics has invited the community to join them in commemorating Naeem’s life and mourning his untimely passing. A vigil has been scheduled on the university campus at the Whitfield Center at 3:30 PM today, where all are welcome to pay their respects and remember the exceptional person Naeem was.

Avila University, a private institution affiliated with the Roman Catholic church, is located in Kansas City, Missouri. It is administered by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and offers both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The campus spans fifty acres in Kansas City, housing thirteen distinct structures. In 2019, the university had 1,527 enrolled students.

Avila University Athletics also expressed their condolences and paid tribute to Naeem, describing him as a “former Avila football player and Avila University student.” The entire Avila community is coming together to remember Naeem’s life and collectively grieve this profound loss. The vigil, scheduled for 3:30 PM at the Whitfield Center, offers an opportunity for everyone to come together in memory of Naeem Moore, whose impact will continue to be felt by all who knew him.

“Rest in Peace to former Avila football player and Avila University student Naeem Moore, who passed away this morning. “We honor the legacy of Class of 2016 graduate Naeem Moore. Naeem was the embodiment of the mission of Cardinal Ritter College Prep. He was a scholar athlete and one of the kindest, most caring students to ever walk the halls. He was known for his infectious smile, hard work on and off the field and being a true friend and quiet leader.

His accomplishments in football as a two year varsity starter are amongst the best in Cardinal Ritter history. Naeem Moore rushed for 3,483 yards on 297 attempts for a combined total of 41 touchdowns. He was offensive player of the year, athlete of the week, all conference and much more. Naeem’s memory has already left a lasting impact on Cardinal Ritter students for years to come and helped pave the way for the success we’re having today. His legacy will never be forgotten. We love you, Naeem”.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Brother, Youth Advocate and Coach Naeem Moore. Coach 9 as we knew him blessed this organization with his leadership and work with our boys for nearly 3 years and though saddened we want to thank his Family and Friends for sharing him with us.
