Tragically, the body of a missing three-year-old boy named Mykell Richardson was discovered in a body of water near his residence in Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland.
The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this information, revealing that Mykell went missing Sunday, prompting an extensive search effort by police.
The child, last seen between 3:30pm and 4:30pm yesterday, was found today (May 15) just before 3:00pm. Officials from the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that the infant, residing in Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland, was discovered in water near his residence. Elkton Police reported that the child was last seen in the Quail Court area in the Elk Landing community.
In a statement, police said: “The Elkton Police Department is saddened to report that at approximately 3pm this afternoon, members of the Maryland State Police Diving Team found Mykell Richardson, 3 years old, dead in waterway near home.”
“Our agency would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.”
“As this investigation moves on to the next phase, we would like to thank the following agencies for providing resources and support over the past 24 hours.”

Massachusetts State Police confirmed that the child’s body was discovered around 12:30 p.m. Monday. The boy, who is speechless and autistic, was playing with his sister and grandfather at a park on Castle Island near the water around 7pm on Sunday when he went missing.
After the child’s location could not be located, the boy’s grandfather urgently contacted 911 to report his missing grandchild. The child’s body was eventually found at Spectacle Island, located just above the water from Castle Island.
In a statement Monday afternoon, Massachusetts State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said: “Soldiers from the MSP Special Emergency Response Team and the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County have been filed The Marines moved to the island and they confirmed the body was Mohamed.”
“The State Police Crime Scene Service also responded to document the recovery scene.
“Mohamed will be brought ashore and transferred to the Medical Examiner’s Office for supervision.”
