Early life and education
Musa Keys was born in 1990 in Giyani in the northeastern region of Limpopo province and he is from Polokwane where he first started playing music. He was the eldest of two children, and from the moment he was born, he was very creative. He was always a creative kid, wanting to do the things he appreciated most from an early age.
In South Africa, he attended primary and secondary school and enrolled at Damelin to study audio engineering upon graduation. He decided that music was more important and left school to devote himself entirely to music. He dropped out of school because he felt that music was starting to work for him.
Career
Musa Keys began his musical career at the age of 13 when he started playing piano at church. He has become South Africa’s most popular live artist thanks to his multi-hit musical talent. He honed his music production skills by watching the work of other producers and receiving guidance from his mentor, Lazarus Thobejane. He is best known for producing the double platinum single “Vula Mlomo”, which features sir trill and Nobantu, and for his catchy tunes from the hit song “Samarian Boy”, spent over three months on the MTV Base and South African charts.
Musa Keys is the sole owner and founder of his own record company, Keys Records, through which he releases the music he creates.
In 2019, he performed trap music before trying out amapiano. He released an EP, titled “The Streets Are Calling.” Additionally, on July 30, 2020, Musa Keys released an album titled Widlysm. Songs like Mali Yephepha, Loving the Boy and Samarian Boy were included on the CD.
He increased his album count on November 19, 2021, in collaboration with Tayo. songs like Selema (Po Po), Abekho and Vula Mlomo (Radio Edit). Translated as “the fountain of joy.”
He has been traveling outside of South Africa due to his work. have traveled to other African countries such as Tanzania and Ghana. In Ghana, he held his first international concert.
