Occasionally we have the opportunity to interview indie musicians who we believe have the qualities to become household names. One of those musicians was named Mitch Rossell. Rossell certainly discovered her passion as a musician. This week’s Swag Spotlight is about Rossell, who has a new song called “Ran into You” with Trisha Yearwood, as well as his background in country music, his time on stage with Garth Brooks too and his experience as a performer.
Rossell was familiar with rural life because she grew up in a small town in East Tennessee. He told us that he has always had a passion for music and that “my dad is someone I really connect with musically.” “There is no doubt that my father is a huge fan of country music.
Rossell has always enjoyed spending time listening to music with his family, but for the first time he is engaged in other interests. Before turning to golf, he played baseball and even won three events in the same year. He remembers being exhausted and always wanting to explore other interests, despite the fact that he liked athletics. However, he does not consider making a career outside of music.
This would eventually change when Rossell’s father tragically passed away the summer before college, inspiring him to pursue what his father always wanted him to do: play the guitar. “When he passed away, I simply promised myself that eventually I would learn.
Today, Rossell is considered by both fans and critics alike to be Garth Brooks’ favorite pupil in the country music industry. Rossell was the sole songwriter on Garth Brooks’ number one song “Ask Me How I Know” and co-wrote his subsequent singles “All Day Long” and “Dive Bar” when it came to write music for iconic performers. Rossell knew he’d finally come to the right place when he was given the chance to open Brooks on his sold-out global tour and even shared the stage with the singer during a performance. He described it to us as “a pretty remarkable experience,” adding, “It was all pretty bizarre to me.”

Recently, singer-songwriter Trisha Yearwood published the lovely and touching song “Ran into You”. Rossell is ecstatic with the song he worked so hard to write after plucking up the courage to approach the superstar to join him on the track.
“I’ve known Trisha for a few years now and I’m just a huge fan not only of who she is but also of her musical and vocal prowess. She’s a freak powerhouse,” I said, adding that her talent was one of the purest I’ve ever witnessed. Without a doubt, she was destined for this.
