Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids, Michigan – The Grand Rapids community is reeling from the loss of Mitch Hausmann, a beloved resident who tragically passed away on December 2nd, 2023, following a severe car accident that occurred on November 20th.
Mitch, known as Kate Hausmann’s husband, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision, leaving the community in deep sorrow and mourning.
Reports reveal that Mitch Hausmann suffered a traumatic brain injury during the devastating car accident. Despite extensive medical efforts, his condition showed no signs of improvement, and he remained unconscious and reliant on a ventilator while receiving intensive care at Butterworth Hospital until his passing.
Specific details about the circumstances of the accident have not been disclosed, adding to the family’s grief and uncertainty during this challenging time.
Kate Hausmann, now in her 35th week of pregnancy, is faced with caring for their nearly 2-year-old daughter. She has been a dedicated teacher at the Farm School for the past three years, known for her commitment and love for her students.
Responding to this tragedy, Nicole Turchetti, a resident of Grand Rapids, initiated a GoFundMe page titled “Please Help Mitch Hausmann- Terrible Car Accident.” The fundraising campaign aims to provide financial support for the family’s funeral expenses. Presently, the page has raised $37,692 USD out of the $50,000 goal.
