Two Riverside County men who went missing after attending Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival have been located and are now in contact with their family, the Sacramento Police Department confirmed on Thursday.
The missing persons, identified as 24-year-old Jacob Clark and 32-year-old Anthony Acosta, had been reported as missing after their families were unable to reach them since Saturday. Clark’s mother, Shannon Jendrock, filed a report expressing concern over her son’s prolonged silence.
Jendrock revealed that Clark had driven to Sacramento in his black 2003 Ford F-150 with Acosta to attend the Aftershock Festival. Despite regular communication throughout the week, all contact was lost by Saturday afternoon, raising concerns. Acosta had also been reported missing.
The breakthrough in the case came after it was discovered that the pair’s cellphones were stolen during the festival, rendering them out of contact with their families. Additionally, Clark’s truck keys were taken. They were staying with an acquaintance they had met at the festival and were unaware of the missing persons report until alerted by someone who had seen the news.
Efforts were made to ensure their safe return, including securing a new set of keys for Clark’s truck. The relieved families are now anticipating their return home to Southern California.
“The missing persons have been located safely and have been in contact with family,” stated the Sacramento Police Department, bringing an end to the distressing episode for the concerned families.
