Missing Jordan Sherwin from Grand Rapids found dead

Grand Rapids, MI – The recent passing of Jordan Sherwin has plunged family, friends, and the wider community into mourning. Sherwin, who had been reported missing on Monday, November 6, was tragically discovered deceased in December 2023, leaving a profound sense of loss among those who knew him.

Confirming the devastating news, a heartfelt post expressed the collective anguish felt by those close to him, acknowledging the difficult weeks endured by family and friends. “This has been a long couple weeks for the family and friends of Jordan and the community in general. The heartbreaking news of his loss and that he’s no longer with us comes with a very heavy heart for those that loved him, those that were just acquaintances, those in the scene, etc.”

The investigation into Sherwin’s disappearance was spearheaded by the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) after he was last seen on November 6th. Described as a 6’1” white male with distinguishing features including blue eyes, brown hair, and a series of tattoos, Sherwin was reported to potentially be clad in a black jacket with metal patches, black boots or shoes, and a camouflage-print backpack.

Key identifiers included a “spiral xenomorph” tattoo atop his head, a red Craft tattoo on his right hand, a black band tattoo on his left hand, and a “Deftones White Pony” tattoo adorning his neck, alongside several other tattoos on his chest and arms.

Megan Elizabeth Avila posted on Facebook,

“I can’t offer much to those affected by the loss of Jordan Sherwin. What I can offer is someone to talk to and probably horsey hugs.This has been a long couple weeks for the family and friends of Jordan and the community in general. The heartbreaking news of his loss and that he’s no longer with us comes with a very heavy heart for those that loved him, those that were just acquaintances, those in the scene, etc.“As a community lean on each other. In the end we only have each other.Rest in power, Jordan.”

The GRPD sought the public’s help, urging anyone with information regarding Sherwin’s whereabouts to come forward. They encouraged individuals to reach out to investigators assigned to the case or share tips anonymously through Silent Observer.

Despite the collective efforts to locate Sherwin, the community has been left grieving. To support with memorial and financial needs, a GoFundMe campaign initiated by Emily Warner on November 17, 2023, aimed to raise $6,000. At the time of this report, the campaign has garnered $4,000, showcasing the outpouring of support for Sherwin’s loved ones during this challenging time.

The Grand Rapids Police Department continues to rely on the cooperation and assistance of the community as the investigation into Jordan Sherwin’s passing unfolds.
