A crime happened on August 10, 2000. When Sanchez was 8 years old and walking home from school alone, Curtis Dean, then 39 years old, kidnapped her and chained her up.

“The neighborhood has shown so much love, support and prayers. And I really appreciate that,” commented Sanchez. But after such trauma and trying to return to a normal life, it’s not the easiest thing.
Her life saw some challenging changes. Alcoholism was the result of her terrible PTSD experience. She discovered she was pregnant with her now 8-year-old daughter after being severely injured in a car accident when she was 16.
When Sanchez discovered she was pregnant, she carefully looked inside herself and discovered once more a way to break the bonds that were holding her back.
In 2009, after Sandra Cantu’s child went missing in Tracy, Sanchez contacted her family. She claimed that although Sandra was later found dead in a bag, her presence appeared to have assisted. When families are at their worst, Sanchez discovers she has a talent for helping them.
The Midsi Sanchez Foundation held its first fundraising event on Sunday at Gentleman Jim’s restaurant in Vallejo, which features a large selection of vintage cars. Focusing on preventing abduction and child sexual abuse, Sanchez will present students using animated puppets.
My favorite piece of advice is that adults don’t need the support of children, says Sanchez, adding that she shares that with her own daughter. The man who kidnapped me asked me to help him because he said he was disabled and couldn’t bend over.”
It turned out that her kidnapper Dean had killed Xiana Fairchild and Amber Schwartz, two other women he had kidnapped. Then, after completing his 300-year term, he passed away in prison. She knew her story could have ended tragically. Therefore, she is trying her best to support others.
