Luxe for Less, a new show from HGTV, will reveal some of the trade secrets that help homeowners achieve a lavish lifestyle without breaking the bank. Michel Smith Boyd and his team of geniuses will give homes a total makeover on the show. Although Michel has built a reputation for himself in the design field, he says that while it wasn’t his first choice, he hasn’t looked back since discovering his love.
According to the network’s press release about the program:
“In the new HGTV series, Luxe For Less, luxury home designer Michel Smith Boyd, whose stunning aesthetic has adorned some of the country’s most expensive homes, comes up with creative budget hacks to get high-end designs at a fraction of the cost.”
It goes on to say that Michel will recycle furniture and purchase “scratches and dents” that can be easily repaired, as well as using smart purchasing tactics. With all this, the designer will be able to complete the high end design. Luxe For Less will premiere on Discovery+ every Thursday, starting December 1, 2022.
Meet Michel Smith Boyd, presenter.
The Luxe for Less host was born and raised in Louisiana and is known for her chic and personalized décor. Michel SMITHBOYD, creator of SMITHBOYD Furniture and a lifestyle brand, is capable of designing elegant living places, with the goal of creating gorgeous and inviting rooms. While residing in New York, the television personality and luxury designer worked in a variety of businesses before entering the design field. He worked in fashion and retail, studied acting and tried his luck as a model.
However, once inside the decoration and design building, he said it would be impossible to return. During his sophomore year at The Art Institute of Atlanta, he began working with his first clients. The luxury designer has worked with many celebrities, and according to the Luxe for Less press release, Michel believes that everyone, regardless of income, deserves luxury. “Where to enjoy and where to save,” the host knows. The background is something the designer likes to include in his approach because he loves layering.
He declared:
“It’s another tactile sensation that adds to the luxurious experience while also being aesthetically pleasing. The way it seems to have surprised our customers.
In a promo for his next HGTV show, he says growing up in a small town has taught him a fundamental truth: everyone deserves luxury. Michel grew up in Thibodaux, Louisiana and says growing up in a small town instilled in him the value of service. Michel likes to focus on the little things, like who works for him. He had a big say in the creation of the Luxe for Less season one team. He says his right-hand man, Kai Williamson, can offer a different perspective.
According to Michel, Anthony Williamson, the creator, has the ability to create something out of nothing. The designer has long respected his fashion sense and was a pleasure to work with. Laura Green, one of the fastest contractors in the industry, joined the team. He says she guarantees that projects will be completed within a six-week timeframe within a world of availability and extended delivery times. Tune in on HGTV on December 1, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET to watch the first season or watch the episodes as they appear on Discovery+.
