“Over the years, he’s played a range of characters, including prominent roles in the soap opera United!, The Newcomers and classics like The Two Ronnies, Porridge, and Some Mothers Do Av ‘Em.” He was most known for his part in the Oxo advertisements, which he performed for 17 years and became a well-liked member of one of Britain’s favorite television families. His wife Carol and family will miss him tremendously.”
Michael Redfern’s career in the entertainment sector
Michael Redfern, who was born on March 30, 1943, was well-known for his theater and television appearances. The Isleworth, Middlesex native rose to prominence as the on-screen spouse of Lynda Bellingham in the Oxo family television ads. The advertisements ran for 16 years and culminated with the family packing up their belongings and relocating to a new home. Oxo tried a fresh, contemporary family idea with a screenplay by Richard Curtis in 2011, and the brand was revamped with the debut of The Oxo Factor in 2009.
Redfern worked as a cab driver and restaurant after the Oxo advertisements ended. He eventually moved to Spain with his wife, Carol, and hosted quiz evenings. Although he was most recognized for his appearances in Oxo ads, he also appeared in various TV series. He appeared as a cop in shows such as The Young Detectives, The Offence, George & Mildred, The Young Ones, Boon, Crossroads, Filthy, and others.
Michael was well-known for his roles in sitcoms such as Man About the House, Bless This House, Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, and others. He appeared in many episodes of TV series such as Three Up, Two Down, Girls On Top, United!, The Newcomers, EastEnders, Doctors, and others.
