My dear friend Michael Kinchla, I will miss you so much. The brightest light in every room, the most loving family man, and friend.Mike and I became friends growing up in the same neighborhood in Forestdale, MA. I was a pretty shy kid and Mike was super outgoing. He was always the funniest kid in the classroom, always putting on the craziest moves at school dances (even got up on the stage once at an 8th grade dance, took his shirt off, and spun it round his head like a helicopter. Just like Petey Pablo said to) He was energetic, uplifting and wicked funny. It gave me courage. He was the absolute man. What led us to become even closer friends was our shared love for golf. We each got memberships before high school to Sandwich Hollows golf club and it quickly became our favorite place to be on earth. We spent endless summer days there just competing and hanging out. Mike wasn’t the longest hitter, but he could chip and putt like a mad man. And that drove me nuts. I always wanted to putt like him. Aggressive and confident. We had a dream to win our high school state championship by our senior year, and we did exactly that. It was the coolest thing because we did it all together as friends.I spent a lot of time at the Kinchla and Oldham houses over the years and vice versa. It was always apparent how much Mike loved his family, and the other families he was close with. And I love his family too, they have always made me feel like a part their family.I don’t want to say goodbye, I just want to always remember what it was like to be in the room with you, laughing and joking around hilariously. Or on the course with you throwing darts and dropping birdie putts. It was the best and I loved every minute we got to spend.I look forward to hearing how the first match in heaven with Schmidty goes.Love you my brotherErik
The family has not disclosed the cause of Michael’s passing, leaving the community in shock and grief. As of now, there is no established fundraising platform for his funeral expenses. Sandwich residents and friends are left to remember Michael as a beacon of kindness, whose absence has left a void in the hearts of those he touched.
