Mia Payne of Doniphan, MO dies at 16, Obituary details, T-shirts funds raised

Doniphan, MO – The Doniphan community mourns the untimely loss of Mia Aliza Payne, a beloved 16-year-old, who departed from this world on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Born on December 18, 2006, in Poplar Bluff, MO, Mia was the daughter of Scott Payne and the late Rachel Todd. She was blessed with the love and adoration of many parents, including Scott Payne and Annya Hart, Kathy and Carl Harp, Jeff and Judy Hale, and Lindsey Roberson.

Mia possessed a smile that could light up any room, and her laughter had the power to bring smiles to the faces of those around her. Her presence brightened the lives of those who knew her. Mia found joy in spending time on the Current River, where she enjoyed fishing and hunting. She had a deep love for animals and possessed a talent for arts and crafts, creating many beautiful items over the years. Gardening was another of her cherished hobbies.

Mia is survived by her sisters, Faith Hill, Deni Hill (William) Nance, Hunter Mathis, Stormy Hill, Tesla Payne, and Vivian Payne, all of Doniphan. She also leaves behind brothers, Gunner Hill of New Mexico, Brandon Tristen of Dallas, TX, Shawn Ford of Campbell, and Johnny Payne of Doniphan. Her great-grandmothers, Willa Harp and Linda Caldwell, and great-grandparents, AB and Kay Hale, along with her aunt, Jamie Thompson, are among the many family members and friends who will continue to hold her memory dear.

Visitation to honor Mia Aliza Payne’s life will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 9, 2023, commencing at noon, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Carl Harp will officiate the service, and Mia will find her final resting place in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Mia’s passing is a poignant reminder of the impact one young life can have on a community. Her bright spirit, laughter, and talents will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever remain in the hearts of Doniphan, where her memory will continue to shine as a beacon of love and light.
