Josephine Myrtle Corbin was born on May 12, 1868 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, United States. She is the daughter of William H. Corbin and Nancy Corbin. She was born with two different pelvises located next to each other from the waist down.

According to Myrtle’s doctor, the extra legs are believed to be her separate twins. Her case is considered to be a rare form of conjoined twins called “Dipygus”.

Each of her smaller inner pins is paired with one of the outer pins. Although her inner legs with three toes were too fragile to walk, she was able to walk.

Technically, she struggles to walk because she only has one good, usable leg because the ones inside are paired with the other.

See pictures of the legs below.

Josephine Myrtle Corbin is a natural beauty. Many doctors conducted several tests which confirmed that she was very healthy and able to function like any other normal person.

She has four other siblings who were born normal.

The birth of Josephine Myrtle surprised the world because she was born with 4 legs and 2 functional genitals (reproductive organs).

The villagers were curious about Josephine’s rare appearance, so the father decided to monetize it by charging them a token to look at his four-legged daughter.

When she was thirteen years old, Josephine traveled to different towns with her father to perform side gigs and earn a lot of money.

Despite the deformity, she did not let her outlook on life be affected. She lived her life to the fullest.
