Maxi Jazz Passed Away At The Age Of 65

Maxi Jazz, frontman of the electronic band Faithless, has just died aged 65. On December 24, 2022, his death was announced via the band’s official Twitter feed, where the announcement was made. that he died in his sleep:

“Maxi Jazz died quietly in her sleep last night, and we are deeply saddened. He is a guy who has influenced our lives in so many different ways. He gave our music real meaning and purpose. He is a wonderful person with time for everyone and insight that is both insightful and accessible.

Maxi Jazz’s musical career began in the early 1980s as a DJ.

Maxi Jazz was born on 14 June 1957 in Brixton, south London. He started his music career as a DJ at Soul Food Cafe System in 1984. Tam Tam Records signed his band in 1989. Jazz later formed Faithless in 1995 with Rollo and Sister Bliss, and the quartet published their first album Reverence the following year. The album also includes the band’s signature song, Insomnia, widely recognized as one of the greatest dance tunes of all time.

Faithless later released their second album, 8PM Sunday, which received a Mercury Music Award nomination. The album also includes their track God Is A DJ, which earned them a BRIT Award nomination for Best British Dance Director. Forever Faithless, their best-selling CD, was certified platinum four times and went on to become the best-selling dance record in 2005. Additionally, they performed at the 2002 Glastonbury Festival.

Despite the fact that the band broke up in 2011, they published a studio album during the Covid epidemic that ignored Maxi Jazz, who was in another band called Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys.
