St. Louis, Missouri – The Rosati-Kain Academy community mourns the loss of a cherished educator and coach, Maureen Polasek, who passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. Maureen dedicated over 20 years of her life to teaching at Rosati-Kain Academy, leaving an indelible mark on generations of students.
Rosati-Kain Academy shared Maureen Polasek’s death news,
“Our hearts are heavy as the world lost a beloved member of the Rosati-Kain community on Monday. Maureen Polasek was a coach and a math teacher from 2002-2023. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.”
Maureen was not just an exceptional teacher; she was a beacon of kindness, patience, and warmth. She possessed a unique ability to make subjects like geometry interesting, even for students who initially lacked interest. Her passion for teaching shone through, creating a wonderful rapport with her students and making a lasting impact on the young women she guided throughout her career.
Beyond the classroom, Maureen was an integral part of the Rosati-Kain community, inspiring and mentoring countless individuals. She made a difference in the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to influence and shape the futures of those she taught.
During her tenure, Maureen orchestrated a significant journey to Rome, leading the Rosati-Kain advanced choir and fellow staff members. The pinnacle of this pilgrimage was a moving encounter with Pope Francis, where the choir had the privilege of performing for His Holiness, an experience that left an everlasting memory.
Maureen Ann Polasek departed this world on Monday, September 18, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Christ The King Catholic Church, Balson Avenue at Purdue Avenue, University City on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In remembrance of Maureen’s impactful life, friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects at LUPTON CHAPEL, 7233 Delmar Boulevard, University City, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as the community comes together to honor and celebrate a beloved educator and remarkable soul.
