The recent car crash on the A7 in the Scottish Borders has left the community grieving the loss of two respected individuals, Mark Williams and Finlay Street. Mark, a devoted father of three with a fourth child on the way, served as the Chief Executive Officer at The NWH Group, a prominent UK-based recycling and waste management firm. The 45-year-old Edinburgh native was a graduate of Gracemount High School and a valued resident of Heriot, Midlothian.
Tragically, the crash also claimed the life of 23-year-old Finlay Street, a former Hawick Linden RFC player, known for his athleticism and dedication to the sport. The Hawick Linden RFC paid tribute to Finlay, recounting his contributions to the club and expressing heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday at around 12:40 pm, involved a black Audi A3 and a black Range Rover. Reports indicate that two children, aged 15 and 9, were passengers in the vehicle driven by Mark Williams at the time of the collision. While the children were swiftly transported to the hospital for treatment, both Mark and Finlay lost their lives due to the severity of the crash.
Inspector Ross Drummond extended condolences to the families and friends of both Mark and Finlay during this challenging period. He urged anyone with information or dash-cam footage related to the incident to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
As the community grapples with the tragic loss of these two esteemed individuals, Mark Williams’ Obituary and Funeral Arrangements will soon be released by the family.
