Marie Pecchia Obituary: Marie C. (Cinami) of Jamestown, RI dies aged 87

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of a remarkable woman, Marie C. (Cinami) Pecchia, aged 87, of Jamestown, RI. On August 21, 2023, Marie peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

Marie was a vibrant presence, always filling every room with her infectious energy and warmth. Her heart was as immense as her smile, and she welcomed everyone with open arms. Her faith was unwavering and held immeasurable importance in her life. She began her days with daily mass, a reflection of her deep spirituality. Additionally, her commitment to physical well-being was evident as she faithfully exercised every day, embodying a spirit of vitality.

A pillar of her community, Marie was an avid volunteer. She extended her compassion to the YMCA, nursing homes, and her parish, where her contributions left a lasting impact. Her relationships were built on a foundation of love and kindness, touching the lives of all who were fortunate to cross her path.

Marie’s life was a testament to her commitment to family. She treasured her roles as a devoted wife and loving mother. Her husband of 49 years, Ralph J. Pecchia, preceded her in passing. Marie’s unwavering love also extended to her children: Carl Pecchia and his wife Gail of Jamestown, Christopher Pecchia and his wife Tracey of Siesta Key, FL, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Baker. She was the proud sister of Barbara Conti. Marie’s role as a grandmother was particularly special to her; she lovingly earned the nickname “Gram Cracker.” Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Robert Crystal-Ornelas, Lauren Messina, Gianna and Michael Pecchia, and Teisha Unger. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Maverick and Camille Messina, and Wynn, Reve, Elle, and Gabby Unger.

Marie’s unwavering positivity, steadfast faith, profound love for her family, and her genuine impact on everyone she encountered are the hallmarks of her life that will be cherished and remembered. As we bid her farewell, we celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives.

A funeral service to honor Marie’s life will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023. The service will commence at 8:45am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory – South County Chapel, located at 1111 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am at Saint Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. Marie will find her final resting place at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visitation hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marie’s memory to Continuum Hospice, at 1350 Division Rd, Suite 205, West Warwick, RI 02893.
