Margaret Ferrier (born 10 September 1960) is a Scottish politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Rutherglen and Hamilton West from 2015 to 2023. A recall petition was automatically started after Ferrier, a former member of the Scottish National Party who now serves as an independent, was suspended from the Commons for 30 days after being found guilty of violating travel restrictions during the lockdown. Voters in the constituency had six weeks to sign the petition.
