A new album from Promise of the Real and Lukas Nelson is coming. The album A Few Stars Apart will be released on June 11 through Fantasy Records. Dave Cobb produced the album and the lead track, “Perennial Bloom (Back To You),” is available now along with a video with the lyrics.
The 11-track album was tracked live on 8-track tape at Nashville’s popular RCA Studio A. While on lockdown with his family in Texas, Lukas wrote songs. I come from what you might call the ultimate traveling family; I’ve been traveling all my life, says Nelson.
“I haven’t been anywhere for more than three months, and now all four of us are here at the same time. I am grateful that we were together. We haven’t spent much time together as a family in a long time, as far as I can remember.
During that time, a lot of meaningful bonding took place. And I have to admit that, despite how terrible the pandemic was in many respects, I was able to draw a lot of positives from it to gain inner calm. I had time to stop and think.
