The town of Brainard, Nebraska, is grappling with the devastating loss of Linda Kriz, who tragically passed away on Sunday, October 22, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Linda, merely 20 years old, succumbed to the blunt force trauma inflicted during the collision, leaving her loved ones and the community in deep sorrow.

Linda Kriz, we are not family by blood, but by choice…and that pretty much meant you were stuck with me forever. Blessed to be part of your life and to see you become the gentle, kind and carefree young woman you were. I hope you knew and felt how much you were loved! Gone way too soon
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Millie Kriz expressed her profound grief over the untimely departure of her beloved sister. She conveyed her immense love for Linda and the pain of not being able to share cherished moments with her anymore. Millie reminisced about their shared experiences, from challenging times like foster care and the loss of their mother, to the unbreakable bond they shared. She promised to care for Phoebe, assuring her departed sister that she would be looked after.
In remembrance of Linda Kriz, a wake will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church on Sunday, October 29, 2023, starting from one in the afternoon until seven in the evening. The community will come together once again on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial, also to be held at St. Francis Catholic Church.
