According to the New York Post, Libbie Mugrabi, 43, damaged a former employee’s phone before threatening her with a knife after disagreeing over the employee’s July 31, 2022 payment.
According to Southampton Township police, the conflict ended when Libbie Mugrabi illegally evicted her former employee from her Sag Harbor home. Mugrabi was arrested and charged with various felony counts, including two counts of second-degree intimidation, third-degree crime and fourth-degree illegal possession of a firearm. After being charged at Southampton Court of Justice, the 43-year-old socialite was released on bail.

What we know about Libbie Mugrabi
Libbie Mugrabi is a wealthy activist and philanthropist, once married to billionaire businessman and art collector David Mugrabi. Bikellaw, the daughter of a plastic surgeon in New Jersey, says she met David while attending culinary school. Rosemary and Joseph Mugrabi are the two children of the former couple.
Libbie received a lot of attention in 2018 due to her highly publicized divorce from David. According to Page Six, the lawsuit involves a disagreement over objects in a $5 billion art collection created by David Mugrabi’s father, Jose. Libbie is said to have fought for ownership of some of the artefacts in the collection, which includes 800 pieces by renowned New York artist Andy Warhol. According to Bikellaw, Libbie claims that she is entitled to specific works of art from the Mugrabi family’s famous collection because she is credited with their acquisition. She stated:
“Marriage to an art dealer is a very sociable job…I adore being a part of the art world.”
According to Danspaper, when the divorce proceedings were completed in 2020, Mugrabi earned $100 million from her ex-husband and continued to invest this money in various charitable causes. According to the Times, she has used her fortune to support the Victoria & Albert Museum as well as other cultural and fashion events in London. Libbie’s involvement in supporting a variety of interests has made her a popular figure in the Hamptons According to the Post.
Other information regarding the allegations against Libbie Mugrabi
Marianne Bertuna, her attorney, has defended her client’s integrity against allegations that she assaulted a former colleague.
Bertuna, of Aidala Bertuna & Kamins, stated:
“Libbie Mugrabi is the cornerstone of our community and an outstanding member of society.” The evidence will establish that she is not guilty of any of the charges. We hope that this case will be quickly dismissed in its entirety.”
As of November 23, officials in New York had not released the identity of the employee who brought the allegation against Mugrabi.
