Lahore Qalandars won against Multan Sultans in the eighth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) final held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday. Lahore Qalandars, the defending champion, became the first team to successfully defend the PSL title.

David Wiese gave Lahore an early breakthrough by eliminating opener Usman Khan. However, Multan and Mohammad Rizwan’s Rilee Rossouw built a strong partnership with 64 runs in 42 balls. But Rashid Khan’s strikes proved to be a turning point, as he cleared Rossouw and then removed Rizwan, who was caught in a brilliant save by David Wiese.

Shaheen also contributed with key goals, scoring three in his final to put Lahore in a strong position. He also broke 44* runs from just 15 balls including 2 4th round and 5 6th round when Lahore was 112/5 in 15th round.

Prior to that, Lahore scored a 200-6 goal in their 20 rounds, with captain Shaheen leading the late game with 44 quick runs on 15 balls. Abdullah Shafique also played a key role, scoring 65 runs in 40 balls.

With this win, Lahore Qalandars are now the first team to win consecutive PSL titles, while Multan Sultans will be looking to claim a second title in the future. The winning team received a check of Rs 120 million, while the second place team received a check of Rs 48 million.
Multan Sultans knocked out Haris Rauf in 22 runs on the 19th turn, and then took down 4 on the last ball!
Khushdil Shah tried to run a third time to pass but failed.
