First motorcycle transmission and clutch, rotary lawn mower blade, flip-up aspirin canister, acoustic garage door opener, oxygen mask used in commercial airlines, and bronchoscope are a few examples. Ky’s father created the Boroscope, a device that works like an X-ray to look inside an airplane’s wings. The government and the aircraft industry each saved millions of dollars thanks to this idea. Ky’s achievements are as remarkable as his family’s. Ky’s father gave him a book published in the 1920s when he was a boy.

While reading the book, Ky came across a fascinating story about a man in a leather helmet sitting on a rocket on a chair. With the tagline “and he lived to tell it,” there’s a picture of a man smoldering on the ground below it. Ky has always been fascinated by the idea that you can actually use rockets to launch into space. Ky received a Gilbert chemistry set for Christmas at the age of 12. His learning about chemistry experiment began there. Soon after, Ky discovered how to make black powder, which helped him design his first rocket engine.

Ky raced his first car, a Ford 3-window coup d’etat in 1934, when he was just 15 years old. Then Ky began to crave speed. Ky built a two-engine motorcycle that broke many records nationwide, but the speed wasn’t fast enough for him. Ky created his first rocket-powered car in 1960, a motorcycle. Ky created a rocket powered sleigh in 1969 that was recorded in the Guinness World Records. After setting his first world record, he decided to try all other acceleration records. Ky’s rocket-powered cars have broken 72 state, national and world speed records over the course of 12 years.

One day, he received a call from Hollywood’s top stuntman, Dar Robinson, a stuntman in California. Ky is invited by Dar to visit California and work with him to create novel feats and stunt machines never seen before. Dar and Ky produced 17 episodes of “It’s Amazing”. As a result, they finally got their own primetime TV show, “The World’s Most Spectacular Stunts,” and went on to make several Burt Reynolds films. In total, Ky has contributed to more than 200 movies, TV shows, commercials and stunt specials that have aired on TV over the past 30 years.
