Koffee’s biography
Mikayla Victoria Simpson, a reggae singer, songwriter and rapper from Jamaica, was born on February 16, 2000. Koffee is not only a musician but also a deejay and a guitarist.
Her first release to the public was the 2017 song “Burning” and the EP “Rapture” in 2019.
At the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, Rapture was named the winner of Best Reggae Album. In March 2022, she released her first album, Gifted.

Early life
The birth of Koffee took place on February 16, 2000 in Spanish Town, Jamaica. Mikayla Victoria Simpson is the name listed on the birth certificate. Jo-Anne Williams is her mother’s name.
A look back at her mother’s upbringing reveals the religious roots of Koffee’s early artistic inspiration. The Seventh-day Adventist Church was Jo-Anne Williams’ place of worship. Jo-Anne Williams is an actress and part-time employee of the Department of Health.
After joining the church choir, Koffee discovered her voice. She taught herself to play guitar at the age of 12. She used a friend’s guitar that she borrowed to practice. She also started writing lyrics for songs after being inspired by reggae musician Protoje.
Education

Koffee’s career
After posting a video on Instagram of her singing, Koffee quickly became famous for her musical abilities. Her debut single titled “Legend” was written and published in 2017. Her vocals and acoustic guitar were the only instruments used to create the song. The movie Legend pays tribute to Usain Bolt, a sprint legend from Jamaica. Usain Bolt’s re-posting of the song on his Instagram page helped it go viral, thereby making her more famous worldwide.
After graduating from high school and initially frustrated at not being accepted into sixth grade after high school, Koffee released her first single, Burning, that same year. Burning was a global success, topping The Foundation Radio Network’s Top 30 Reggae Chart for an impressive three weeks.
Koffee’s Raggamuffin, released in December 2018, is an anthem against gun violence and government indifference towards youth. She was included in the “Hot For 2019” playlist on BBC Radio 1Xtra in 2019. Toast, a single produced by Major Lazer, was released shortly thereafter.
In 2018, Koffee signed a deal with Columbia Records UK. Released on March 14, 2019, her debut EP with the company is titled Rapture. One of the singles from the album, “Throne”, includes a music video that offers visitors a tour around her native Spanish town. On January 22, 2022, The Fader was the first to premiere the music video.
Her collaborative effort in 2019 marked her first foray into the crossover singles arena. Gunna, a hip hop singer, provided vocals for the song. In 2019, Tory Lonez also changed Koffee’s Toast as part of its International Fargo Project.
At the 62nd Grammy Awards, Koffee’s EP Koffee took home the trophy for Best Reggae Album. She received the award at the age of 19, becoming the youngest person and the only woman to do so. She released two hit singles in 2020: “Lockdown” and “Pressure”. Don’t Walk Away, a song by John Legend featuring her.
On March 25, 2022, she released Gifted, her much-awaited debut album. There are no negative reviews for the album so far. All songs on Gifted are about sticking together and getting through tough times. There are dancehall reggae, fusion reggae, pop and R&B songs in the 10-song collection.
The collaboration between Koffee and other featured artists on Gifted makes for a great piece of music. Several famous musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, Lionel Richie and Ryan Bailey helped make the album.

Koffee’s Personal Life
Koffee has been around for 20 years, as of February 16, it’s been 20 years. She is currently making her home in Kingston, Jamaica. She regularly tours in Europe and North America, where her shows are always sold out.
2016 was the first time people heard Koffee perform, and she blew the competition away at her high school talent show. A crowd of over a thousand people watched her perform in the school cafeteria. A secret audition was held there, and she didn’t know. It was the performance that gave her the courage to stand on stage in front of the crowd. Koffee is an attractive young woman with dark skin and a slim figure.
