Vanessa Bryant settles lawsuit
Bryant settled with LA County for $28.85 million, including $15 million that a jury awarded her in August 2022 following a trial in federal court. The remaining $13.35 million will be divided among her surviving daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri.
Mira Hashmall, the lead attorney representing the County of LA, called the settlement “fair and reasonable.” She also described it as final, saying it “addresses all outstanding issues regarding pending legal claims in state court, future claims of the Bryant children and other costs, with each party responsible for its respective attorney’s fees.”
Chris Chester, co-plaintiff in the lawsuit, also received $19.95 million in damages. His wife and daughter died in the accident.
