Killing County, Hulu’s new true-crime documentary series, is scheduled to premiere on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 12:01 a.m. ET. The documentary examines the unexplained murders in Bakersfield, California. It all started with an investigation into the 2013 murder of Jorge Ramirez, an informant for the Bakersfield Police Department. The first season of the show, directed by Colin Kaepernick and produced by ABC News Studios, was divided into three volumes. It will be narrated by American actor André Holland, best known for playing Kevin in the Oscar-winning film Moonlight (2016).
Colin Kaepernick is an executive producer on Killing County, which he describes as one of the “most impactful projects” he has worked on. Killing County’s two-minute and 24-second trailer reveals that Bakersfield is one of the cities with the highest frequency of police homicides.
