Kenyon Valentine, 18 year-old, shot dead inside his car near Oxon Hill High School

On October 6, 18-year-old Kenyon Valentine of Alexandria lost his life in a shooting near Oxon Hill High School in Maryland. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m., prompting a police response to the 6800 block of Haven Avenue. Valentine was found inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting disrupted the Oxon Hill High School football game against High Point High School.

Prince George’s County Police are actively investigating the case and have offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Witnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a parked car on Haven Avenue. Subsequently, one of the passengers fired a shot at Valentine before the other two individuals in the car fled the scene.

“AWAKENED TO THE HEAVIEST OF HEARTS – My Beautiful Lil’ Cousin, Kenyon Valentine … My mind won’t even think. LORD HAVE MERCY!!!!! May GOD fold you in his loving arms. My prayers for all of my Valentine family during this time of profound loss.”

Both incidents highlight the tragic loss of young individuals due to gun violence, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances and bring those responsible to justice.
