Ken Pela’s career
Ken Pela was an economist by training and later became an investment banker before he returned to his original passion of real estate development. He said in an interview that he always wanted to be an architect but then he decided to study Economics. However, he is currently engaged in real estate development and he is also an entrepreneur.
Ken Pela began his political career about 22 years before running for and winning the primaries for local government president in Delta State. Although he won the primaries, he was not allowed to become the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
However, at the end of that competition, he continued to be active in politics as a member of the Board of Directors and Acting President of the National Sports Institute.
He is currently running for Governor in the 2023 Delta gubernatorial election, under the leadership of the Labor party. According to an interview, he started out the reason he was directly running for Governor was so he could make positive changes.
