Keigan Norwood, a 6-year-old boy, dies from wreck injuries after ATV Accident

Keigan Norwood, the victim of a tragic ATV wreck, died Tuesday from his injuries, as confirmed by Rankin County Coroner David Ruth. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department also provided details of the incident on Tuesday.

On a Sunday afternoon, an emergency call was made to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, reporting a collision between a motor vehicle and an ATV on Rehobeth Rd in Pelahatchie. Upon arrival, the delegates discovered two young men sitting on the ATV in critical condition. AirCare was immediately summoned and transported both young men to the hospital. The accident is currently under investigation.

After many questions regarding blood donations for two children involved in the Rankin County ATV crash, Mississippi Blood Service (MBS) has sent out a message to support everyone who donates. Lou Dittus and Keigon Norwood were both injured in the four-wheeler incident and transported from the scene to Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson.

Officials have stated that Keigon specifically requires A+ blood donations to stabilize blood pressure. Norwood’s family has informed WJTV that people with A+ blood can donate at Lowe’s in Greenville, Mississippi, from 12-4pm today.

In addition, MBS has provided information that individuals outside of the Greenville area may donate at any MBS Center or Blood Drive using the following codes: Keigan – EJ35 and Myleigh – EJ34.
