“My first year at Fountain Hill, I had the pleasure of joining the fourth grade team with Karen Voorhees. She told me two things right off the bat.. she remembered my smile from the sidelines as a Liberty cheerleader, and I was young enough to be her daughter. And from that day forward, she treated me as such.To know Karen was to love her. She smiled through every tough day and never took life too seriously. Her legacy will live on in all of BASD and especially our South Side community. Karen, you will be so dearly missed.. we will continue to show up and do what’s best for kids as you always have. We are all better by knowing you. Rest easy, my friend. I love you.”
