Former Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford will host the upcoming season of Are You the One? on Paramout. The series’ ninth season will begin January 18, 2023, and will move from MTV to Paramount+ in eight years. Ryan Devlin hosted the first five seasons of Are You the One? before being replaced by Terrence J in seasons six through eight. Part 9 of Are you the only one? Kamie will accompany 22 single men and women on their dates and assist them in building emotional relationships with each other. She is best known for featuring a number of television series highlights, including Catfish and Sweet Life: Los Angeles Reunion.

Kamie Crawford was born on October 25, 1992 in Cleveland, Ohio, the eldest of five sisters. She attended Winston Churchill High School in Maryland and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Kamie was accepted into the medical program of the Georgetown University Congressional Student Leadership Conference before winning Miss Teen USA. She enrolled at the New York Film Academy in 2010 and graduated from Fordham University with a degree in media and communication in 2015.
Kamie was urged by a friend to enter the contest and she began training with Miss Pennsylvania USA 2008 Lauren Merola. This friend of hers competed in the same tournament as Kamie two years ago. Crawford won Miss Maryland Teen USA 2010 after only 5 months of training. In July 2010, she entered the Miss Teen USA pageant, representing her hometown. Kamie is the first woman and third Hispanic to win the championship from Maryland. Crawford co-hosted MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show with Nev Schulman in addition to presenting Are You the One. She is a social media influencer with over 600,000 followers on Instagram.
Crawford plans to use her celebrity as a model to:
“increasing the visibility of body positivity and diversity in the digital space and beyond.”
The Are You the One host ran for the 2020 election and is currently a Voter Engagement Ambassador for the Congressional Black Caucus PAC. She volunteers with the NAACP, the California Department of Health, and the Pandemic Action Network. Crawford has his own podcast, Relations*t, created by Dear Media Studios. She also sells her own merchandise on Instagram and will soon appear to feature MTV’s Ex on the Beach Couples and Paramount+’s Are You the One?

According to the series synopsis on Paramount+:
“Twenty-two newly single men and women from around the world were put through a rigorous matching procedure to find their “ideal mate.” Singles will come from all over the world and will live together under one roof in an unfamiliar location with a single goal: to find ‘the one’. Every week, single people will have the opportunity to meet their soul mate. And if they can find all 11 perfect matches at once, they will share a big financial prize.”
Are you the only one? The creators previously linked 11 pairs using a proprietary algorithm. The hopefuls will now live together and date to find that elusive ‘perfect match’. Based on the previous installment, the main prize of the program will be $1,000,000, with the producer deducting $250,000 for each incorrect match.
Are you the right one? Season nine will consist of 10 episodes and will be released on Paramount+ at 3 a.m. ET every Wednesday. Rob LaPlante, Scott Jeffress, Howard Schultz and Jeff Spangler are producers on the series.
