Tragedy struck early on Saturday morning near Honolulu as a shooting incident unfolded at a boat dock, resulting in two fatalities and leaving two individuals injured. Honolulu Police Department officials are actively pursuing a suspect in connection with the incident.
According to Lt. Deena Thoemmes of the Honolulu Police Department, a dispute erupted at the Waianae boat dock in the early hours of Saturday. Gunshots were reported, and witnesses observed numerous vehicles departing from the harbor in haste.
Regrettably, the incident claimed the life of a 19-year-old male who succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. Additionally, a 29-year-old male was discovered deceased inside a vehicle at the scene. An 18-year-old male is currently in stable condition, and a 21-year-old female is in critical condition, receiving medical care.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work diligently to piece together the events leading up to the tragic shooting.
In a separate development related to the case, 18-year-old Javen Lopez has been taken into custody on first-degree murder charges. The shooting in Waianae over the weekend resulted in the loss of two lives, and Lopez is believed to be connected to the incident. He was apprehended by the Honolulu Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit in Maili shortly before six o’clock.
It has been reported that Lopez himself sustained gunshot wounds during the course of events. His current medical condition is described as stable. Lopez now faces charges related to murder and firearms offenses, although the exact number of suspects involved in the incident remains undisclosed.
