Joseph Plante of Masonic Home Road passes away at 28: Obituary

The tight-knit community of Masonic Home Road is grieving the loss of a beloved member, Joseph Plante, who passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023. Having resided on Masonic Home Road for 28 years, Joseph was a cherished figure known for his warmth, generosity, and infectious bear hugs. His untimely departure has left family, friends, and neighbors in mourning.

Joseph Plante, a native of Worcester, spent his entire life in Charlton, Massachusetts. After graduating from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2013, he pursued higher education at Florida Atlantic University and the Professional Golf College. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Heritage Country Club, where he served as the manager of the pro shop and a dedicated teaching professional. Prior to this, he held the position of Director of Golf at the Quaboag Country Club in Monson, Massachusetts.

Outside of work, Joseph found joy in the company of his loyal boxer, Dutchess, and indulged in hobbies like music, hiking, camping, and golf. He cherished moments spent with his loved ones, finding immense happiness in their presence.

To honor Joseph’s memory, a visitation will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. The church, located at 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., will serve as the venue for the final farewell. Joseph will find his eternal rest in Charlton’s West Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial tributes be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions can be sent to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
