After a solid performance at the combined tournament in mid-May, Walsh decided to keep his name in the draft after initially choosing to test the waters while still qualifying for college for the 2022–23 season .
During the 2022–23 season, Walsh played for Arkansas all 36 games, starting 22 of them and averaging 24.4 minutes per game. The versatile player, who sometimes plays both minor and power forwards, averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while scoring 43.3% total body and 71.2% from charity. He also made 20 three-pointers over the course of the season.
