New Orleans, LA – The vibrant city of New Orleans is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of John Abston, co-founder of the NOLA T-Shirt of the Month Club. His passing was announced on Saturday, November 11, 2023, by his wife and business partner, Jackie Abston, leaving the community in shock and sadness.
In a heartfelt statement, Jackie shared the devastating news, expressing the incredible sadness she feels at the unexpected loss of her husband. John, along with Jackie, established the NOLA T-Shirt Club in 2015, driven by his deep love for New Orleans and its vibrant culture.
Originally an online store, the NOLA T-Shirt Club quickly gained popularity under John’s visionary leadership. While Jackie managed the website and social media, the duo’s dedication and hard work saw the company expand. In March 2018, NOLA opened its first retail location, and by 2020, it boasted two brick-and-mortar shops alongside its thriving online platform.
For those unfamiliar, NOLA stands for New Orleans, Louisiana, and their shirts showcase diverse themes including Mardi Gras, sports teams, summer, St. Patrick’s Day, kid-friendly designs, and festival-inspired prints. Beyond shirts, NOLA offers boutique items such as socks, hats, stickers, bags, jewelry, leggings, and kitchen towels.
One of the unique features of NOLA is its Tee-Shirt of the Month Club subscription, offering four duration options. Members receive shirts around the 20th of every month, with a sneak peek of the design for the upcoming month, allowing flexibility for subscribers to skip a month if the design doesn’t align with their preferences.
As New Orleans remembers John Abston, his legacy as a co-founder of the NOLA T-Shirt of the Month Club will be cherished, and the community extends condolences to Jackie Abston and their loved ones during this difficult time.
